Position Description
Providence Living (PL) is a recognized leader in the design and delivery of innovative seniors’ care services, homes, and communities across British Columbia, guided by a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and person-centred care. Driven by its Catholic mission, evidence, and global best practices, PL designs environments inspired by the concepts of a dementia village. Over the next several years, PL is expected to grow significantly through the procurement and development of purpose-built Long-term Care (LTC) and Assisted Living (AL) villages, positioning PL as a major provincial provider of seniors’ care services. Created by Providence Health Care (PHC) and St. Joseph’s Hospital Society, PL is a stand-alone, non-profit organization with its own board and management structure.
Providence Living is seeking a visionary and transformational President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization’s continued growth, innovation, and impact in seniors’ care across British Columbia. Reporting to the Board through the Chair, the CEO will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the organization, including major redevelopment initiatives, complex partnerships, and significant capital projects, while advancing Providence Living’s pioneering social-relational model of care, Home for Us (H4U).
The ideal candidate is an accomplished and influential executive who combines strong business acumen with a genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors and advancing community-centred, values-based care. The successful candidate brings senior leadership experience running all aspects of an organization, as well as health care experience, and understanding of the unique nature of a faith-based enterprise. They have a proven ability to build strategic partnerships, work effectively with Boards, and lead organizational growth and change. Recognized as an inspiring mentor, skilled communicator, and collaborative relationship builder, the candidate thrives in dynamic and publicly visible settings, demonstrates resilience and adaptability, and has a strong track record of scaling organizations, stewarding significant assets, negotiating effectively, and enhancing service delivery through innovation and compassionate leadership.
The targeted salary range for this position is $250,000 – $300,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
