Position Description

About Us:

Crane Lake Discovery Camp is a therapeutic wilderness program for boys aged 10-15 years. We are a private school operating on about two hundred acres of land near MacTier, Ontario, following the methodology of therapeutic wilderness camping developed by Campbell Loughmiller.

We have a dedicated team of people living and working full-time at camp. They form a supportive, caring community in our remote location, and that support and care overflows to the way we care for the campers.

About This Position:

Three meals are provided five days of the week for about 12-25 people. Kitchen staff fill a critical role in the care of our camp community, providing a warm and welcoming environment in the dining hall for campers and staff. 

Responsibilities:

• Follow food safety protocols using the provided certification training.
• Prepare food and clean up after each meal.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly kitchen cleaning tasks.

Position Details:

• Full-time, paid position
• Two-year term (shorter terms may be available to suitable candidates)
• Training provided
• Housing and meals provided

Skills and Qualifications:

• Mature, dedicated Christian.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with a small team.
• High School diploma (or equivalent).
• Commercial kitchen experience is an asset, but not required.
