Position Description

Grace Bible Church (GBC) is looking to fill the role of Next Generation Pastor with a passionate and relational Jesus-follower who desires to cultivate a vibrant ministry to children, youth, young adults and their families. Reporting to the Executive Pastor, this fulltime staff member will employ their gifts and skills in helping our young people to grow as disciples of Jesus, to integrate into the life of the church, and to be witnesses amongst their peers. The primary focus of this role is our middle school and high school ministry. In collaboration with the Executive Pastor, this position will provide oversight to children’s ministry as well as input into the young adults’ ministry, to ensure a cohesive pathway for younger children leading into youth ministry and beyond.

Responsibilities: Youth Ministries (Grades 6-12)

  • Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for the growth of Grace Bible Church’s Youth Ministries, aligning with GBC’s Mission and Key Values.
  • Provide primary teaching and communication for youth gatherings. • Build, empower, and mentor a team of volunteer leaders dedicated to leading and assisting with the youth ministries including recruiting and training new volunteers.
  • Coordinate larger events for discipleship and community interaction with youth which could include youth retreats and focused outreach activities.
  • Maintain regular ministry communication and collaboration with youth parents/guardians and leaders and lead meetings with both groups.
  • Cultivate intergenerational relationships and ministry between youth and the larger church body.
  • Partner with parents/guardians to equip them in their role as spiritual leaders in their children’s lives.

Children’s Ministry

  • Provide oversight to the Sunday School (pre-service) and Kids Bible Time (during service) through regular meetings with the volunteer team leads, some recruitment and training of new volunteers, and giving input on curriculum and budget needs.

Young Adults Ministry

  • Recruit and support volunteers in the young adults’ ministry and provide leadership as needed and encouragement as they continue to grow in their own discipleship journey.
  • Support the transition from youth ministry into the young adults’ program.

Responsibilities may include other duties as assigned.
