Executive Summary
The Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada (EMCC) is searching for a faith-filled, visionary leader with a missional heart to join their team as President.
The President serves as the spiritual leader, chief executive officer, and national team leader of the EMCC. Reporting directly to the EMCC Board of Directors, the President provides overall leadership for the denomination, ensuring that its mission, values, strategic priorities, and ministries are advanced with clarity, effectiveness, and faithfulness.
This role calls for a mature and respected Christian leader who combines strong spiritual discernment with proven executive leadership capabilities. The President is responsible for nurturing the spiritual life and culture of the denomination while also providing oversight of strategic planning, national operations, organizational health, credentialing, global partnerships, and external relationships.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader of leaders who inspires trust, cultivates unity, and empowers others. They will be equally comfortable preaching at denominational gatherings, mentoring leaders, engaging churches and ministry partners, managing complex organizational responsibilities, and representing the EMCC in public, national, and international settings.

Position Summary
The ideal candidate will be known for spiritual maturity, Christlike character, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of the local church. They will bring significant ministry and executive leadership experience, characterized by strategic thinking, relational intelligence, organizational effectiveness, and servant leadership.
They will possess the ability to:

Position Expectations
The EMCC President shall…
- Live an exemplary life of following Jesus and embody the ethos/ways/heart of EMCC.
- Uphold high ethical standards and pursue the qualities of a spiritual leader in the church as seen in Scripture.
- Be familiar and compatible with EMCC beliefs and values.
- Expect to travel 25–50% of the time; predominately national with some international travel.
- Adhere to the bylaws, policies, and executive limitations assigned by the EMCC Board of Directors.
- Demonstrate a calling to serve and build up the Body of Christ.
Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years of previous experience in ministry and have senior management/peer leadership experience.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theological education; master’s and/or doctorate degree, an asset.
- Must be an EMCC ordained minister or become one in a time frame as determined by the EMCC Board of Directors.
- Proven track record of ministry experience and servant leadership.
- Experience in senior/lead management level responsibilities and oversight.
- Strong operational strengths including sound financial management, business acumen, and project management skills.
- Proven and effective strengths in critical thinking, collaborative strategic vision building, planning and implementation.
- Known as a team builder who collaborates, delegates, and empowers others. Experience and training in recruiting, hiring, managing, and retaining a diverse team and working well with boards, peers, and direct reports.
- Strong relational and interpersonal strengths, including experience with problem solving, conflict resolution, administering discipline, negotiation, consensus building, and engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to serve as denominational spokesperson.
- Abilities and experience in policy writing and policy management.
- Able to work remotely, and organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
