Position Description
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Hours: 30 hours per week (Proposed: Tue, Wed, Thu 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM; Sunday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM; 12.5 Flex/Behind-the-scenes hours). The actual hour breakdown is to be worked out with the person and agreed upon with the supervisor.
Compensation: $20-25 an hour (Depending on Experience.)
Role Purpose
The Children’s Director and Operations Administrator ensures the operational health of Lakeshore Missionary Church (LEMC) and provides intentional, vision-aligned leadership for our Children’s Ministry. This role balances efficient office management with the discipleship of our children and families.
Core Responsibilities
I. Children’s Ministry Direction
- Sunday Program Oversight: Manage the children's ministry environment,ensuring it is safe, welcoming, and mission-focused.
- Curriculum & Teaching: Select and oversee curriculum that aligns withLEMC values and faith statements
- Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, schedule, and equip the volunteer team to ensure "Mission is normal" in the classrooms.
- Family Equipping: In connection with the children's team, develop/distribute tools for home discipleship; coordinate family activities that build community.
- Child and Vulnerable Adult Policy Administration
- Sole Administrator: Serve as the administrator for the Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.
- Direct Oversight: You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all screening processes (criminal record/vulnerable sector checks), maintaining up-to-date and secure records, enforcing safety protocols across all children’s ministry activities and working with the Ministry Council for other areas of Lakeshore Life.
II. Operational Administration
- Office Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the office; manage phone, email, and social media inquiries.
- Facility & Scheduling: Manage building bookings (ministry & rentals, repair crew), oversee the church calendar.
- Financial Stewardship: Process accounts payable, reimbursements, and some financial data input.
- Systems: Maintain CRM databases and provide administrative support to staff and ministry leaders.
- Communication: Coordinate church-wide communications, including the weekly e-newsletter and social media post-scheduling and other as needed.
- Reporting: Assist with annual reports and statistical reporting for EMCC and LEMC.
- Health and Safety Coordinator (working with the operations team) Act as the onsite representative for health and safety, performing monthly facility walk-throughs to identify hazards, maintaining records for emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, AED), and ensuring the building meets public safety standards.
- Food cupboard - Schedule of clients as they call and distribution of food. Communicating with leadership about needs and supplies who will care for that.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Faith & Alignment: A Follower of Jesus and an active member of the local church, and supports the vision, purposes, and values, statement of Faith of LEMC.
- Skills: Highly organized with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Ecosystem, and Canva.
- Integrity: Must be able to pass a criminal record/vulnerable sector check if hired. Possesses high discretion and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive safety and financial records.
- Flexibility: Adaptable to a schedule that includes office hours, Sunday programming, and occasional seasonal events.
