Position Description

Centre Overview

105 Gibson Centre (105GC) is a faith-based community care centre, established by the Toronto Christian Community Church (TCCC) in 2013. Striving towards equity, belonging and wholeness, our vision is to be good neighbours who provide hope in God, transforming people by building an inclusive, caring and engaged community together with local partners. Our mission is to serve the local and those in need, and to share with them the compassion and hope of Jesus (Luke 4:18, Micah 6:8).

Reporting Structure

This position is reporting to the Marketing and Community Outreach Manager.

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and driven Marketing and Communication Coordinator to manage and execute daily promotional, digital, and print communication activities for 105 Gibson Centre. Working closely with the Community Outreach Manager, Multimedia Designer, and various ministry teams, the Coordinator will handle daily social media and website updates, assist with email marketing platforms, reformat and print promotional materials, compile analytical monthly reports, and ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education or degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  2. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in marketing, digital communications, or content creation.
  3. Experience working within the non-profit sector or faith-based organizations is a strong asset.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  5. Demonstrated experience in digital content creation, social media scheduling, platform management (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), and email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp).
  6. Proficiency in creating graphic and video content using tools such as Capcut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  7. Familiarity with content management systems (e.g. WordPress) and basic SEO.
  8. Familiarity with marketing communication procedures, advertising and production process.
  9. Experience working with diverse marketing segments including older adults, youth, families with young children, and culturally diverse communities.

Skills & Competencies Qualifications:

  1. Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  2. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and time management abilities
  3. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication within a team.
  4. Creative mindset with a collaborative spirit, comfortable contributing to brainstorming sessions and design direction.
  5. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  6. Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (writing samples may be requested). Spoken fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Propose, schedule, prepare images, and produce short videos for social media targeting 3–4 posts per week.
  2. Manage and upload completed video content to YouTube and photos to the photo gallery.
  3. Update the website regularly with job openings, event flyers, and news in collaboration with the web contractor.
  4. Track, consolidate, and report on monthly statistics regarding page views, reach, and engagement across digital channels.
  5. Handle the seasonal preparation and publication for class/program pamphlets and subsequent changes.
  6. Reformat posters/videos for digital displays; maintain and display up-to-date printed and digital posters across the Centre.
  7. Capture photos and videos during special events and upload finished media files to the photo gallery as needed.
  8. Serve as a backup for poster design during peak times or ad-hoc requests.
  9. Handle on-going update of newsletter subscribers list.
  10. Ensure all marketing, digital content, and promotional communications align strictly with 105 Gibson Centre’s brand guidelines, visual standards, and core mission.
  11. Other duties assigned by 105GC management from time to time.

Expected Work Schedule                                               

  1. The position may require occasional evening and weekend hours to support community programs and events.
  2. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on community service and engagement.
  3. Office-based at the centre, with occasional travel or off-site events as needed.
