Position Description
New Life Church is seeking a full-time Pastor of Family & Community Life to join our Pastoral team. We are a vibrant, growing, and demographically diverse church family of more than 500 people in Stonewall, Manitoba, with a mission to make disciples who experience new life in Christ, express new life to one another, and extend new life to our world. We strive to embody the values of whole-hearted worship, authentic community, passionate service, and courageous witness. New Life Church is an active member of the Baptist General Conference of Canada.
Located just 15 minutes north of Winnipeg, Stonewall is a thriving and growing community that offers the best of small-town living with convenient access to the big city. We are seeking a relational, experienced leader who is passionate about making disciples, connecting people in community, strengthening families, and helping the church engage meaningfully with the surrounding community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Community Life
Lead and grow the Life Group ministry through leader development, group strengthening, and new group launches, while supporting adult ministries and providing pastoral care and congregational support.
Connections and Outreach
Lead and strengthen connection and outreach efforts by helping newcomers engage in the life of the church and helping our church engage in the needs of Stonewall and the South Interlake.
Family Life
Lead and strengthen ministry to families, equipping them in the areas of marriage and parenting by providing programs, practical resources, and pastoral care, to help the home become a primary place of discipleship.
Preaching and Leadership
Contribute to the mission and vision of New Life Church as part of the pastoral leadership team, including opportunities for preaching and teaching.
Qualifications
- A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A clear calling to pastoral ministry and discipleship.
- A bachelor's degree in ministry, theology, or a related field, or equivalent ministry training and experience.
- Five years of ministry experience preferred.
- Proven experience leading and developing ministry teams and volunteers, with a strong background in small group ministry and adult discipleship.
- A relational and engaging leadership style with a passion for helping people connect, grow, and serve.
- Experience in marriage, family, and community-focused ministry would be considered an asset.
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching, and encouragement. They will have a heart for helping people grow in their relationship with God, a passion for building authentic community, and the ability to equip and encourage others toward spiritual maturity. They will be warm, approachable, Christ-centered, and committed to working collaboratively with church staff and volunteer leaders.
