Position Description

If you’re passionate about Jesus, gifted in music and excited about connecting people with God through 
worship, let’s talk! We’re looking for a Worship Director to lead our congregation in meaningful, engaging and Christ-centered worship. You’ll help shape our worship culture, develop and equip volunteer teams and create environments where people can encounter Jesus, grow in faith and fully participate in worship and prayer.

What You’ll Do

• champion and implement our values for worship
• lead rehearsals and set up other worship leaders 
• select songs and lead worship that is biblically grounded and centered on Jesus 
• recruit, inspire, equip and support volunteer teams to foster growth spiritually and musically
• plan and execute services with excellence in collaboration with our Producer and Tech Director
• email and schedule volunteers through Planning Centre, prepare agendas, etc. for meetings
• assemble musical charts, lyrics, etc. for distribution
• manage music team budget and maintain worship equipment and systems 
• work with audio/visual, livestream and other production volunteers to create a cohesive worship experience
• design and implement musical vision for special services throughout the year
• A degree, ministry training, theological education, or additional musical experience is an asset.
• The Worship Leader and Tech Coordinator positions can be combined into a single full time position, with some adjustments to the outlined duties. The combined position of Associate Pastor of Worship is subject to the following:
• the successful candidate senses a God-given calling to a vocation of Christian ministry, in agreement with God’s purpose for the local church in the world and is able to articulate a theology/philosophy of ministry
• must be credentialed by the Mennonite Brethren church
• they will be a visible, purposeful, available and relational presence to our faith community and our world as a representative of The Meeting Place. Pastoral duties could include baptisms, weddings, funerals, interments, prayers, home and hospital visits.
