Children’s Ministry Pastor (Full-Time 40 hours per week)
Position Description
The Toronto Christian Community Church is a multilingual church (English, Cantonese, Mandarin), celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, and is a member of ACEM (Association of Christian Evangelical Ministries). Currently, it holds holistic ministries with services at 100 Acadia Ave and 105 Gibson Centre for outreach. The Children’s Ministry Pastor will oversee weekly Sunday school operations, children’s fellowship programs, day camps, and children's mission programs. Candidates for the position will have demonstrated direct experience working with children of various ages, from Newborn to Grade 8, in a church environment, fostering the growth of missional disciples of Jesus Christ and impacting the world with compassion and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
This leader will have the capacity to: .
Strategize the ministry in collaboration with all three congregations, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor to fulfill mission statement of TCCC
Lead and develop the children’s ministry’s team of teachers and helpers
Equip children to grow in their faith and encounter God’s transforming presence
Liaise with the parents of the children involved in TCCC.
Teaching and Curriculum:
Oversee/facilitate weekly Sunday school operations and coordinate children's programs during worship services
Prepare a yearly teaching roster for Sunday school
Regularly teach Christian education classes
Select, organize and prepare curriculum before the beginning of Sunday school year
Prepare, develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children
Recruit, train, mentor and equip teachers, helpers, and volunteers, providing opportunities for their spiritual growth and skills development.
Plan and organize special events and activities for children throughout the year
Collaborate with other ministry leaders to ensure alignment and integration of children's ministry within the overall church vision

Annual events (Summer Day Camps, ACEM Children’s Mission Program, Family Fun Fair)
Coordinate/supervise/support the various children’s programs
Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and execute engaging events, outings, and projects that appeal to children’s interests and passions.
Coordinate logistics and recruit volunteers
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
Pastoral care
Build meaningful relationships with children and their families, fostering a sense of belonging and community within the church.
Build relationships with parents and caregivers, providing resources and support for their children's spiritual growth
Collaborate with other church ministries to create opportunities for intergenerational connections and support.
Other Responsibilities:
Manage administrative activities for the ministry
Attend and lead Children’s Ministry (CM) committee meetings.
Attend pastoral meetings.
Actively contribute to the growth and development of the pastoral team through pastoral meetings, pastoral retreats, staff meetings, vision meetings, etc.
Cooperate and assist in all church-wide events / programs.
Prepare budgets, bulletin announcements, etc.
Liaise with other churches on children’s ministry initiatives
Experience, Skills and Abilities and Personal Characteristics
A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and a firm commitment to the vision and mission of Toronto Christian Community Church
Possesses an MDiv, or its equivalent from an evangelical seminary
Passionate about children’s spiritual formation
Fluency in English is mandatory
Proficiency in either Cantonese or Mandarin is required
Cultural awareness in a multilingual church setting
Supporting the church in its ministries and fostering positive relationships with the church community and the public
Strong values with a growth mindset and energetic attitude
Self-motivated, proactive, willing to take responsibility for actions and work
Direct experience in church ministry working with children would be beneficial
