Purpose: In support of the New Projects and Development division of More Than a Roof Housing Society as well as its mission, vision and values of the society, the program coordinator provides project, planning and administrative support to the Real Estate Development Division.

Report to: Senior Director of Real Estate Development

Full Time: 40 hours per week

Overview of Responsibilities

Working as part of the development team in a support position, this role involves coordinating various aspects of project planning for multiple development projects across B.C. The coordinator will facilitate communication among stakeholders, manage resources, and address any issues that arise, contributing to the creation of sustainable and innovative developments that enhance community living and promote the growth of the division.

Communications

  • Answer general enquiries, telephone calls, messages, and emails responding consistently and in a professional manner to ensure efficient and timely communications
  • Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments and organizations
  • Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
  • Preparing Board reports and presentations in collaboration with the project lead

Project, Planning & Management Support

  • Establish and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any deviation or change
  • Assisting in the preparation of capital and operating budgets, cashflow analysis, and other financial updates
  • Receive, review, and process all project financial invoices and preparing monthly progress claims
  • Prepare and assist with preparation, maintenance and submission of funding draws to throughout the various phases of development
  • Coordinate project team meetings, preparing agendas, taking clear and succinct meeting minutes
  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Liaise with project partners and consultants on project tasks as appropriate
  • Assist the team with community consultation activities and materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in architecture, construction management, real estate or similar program or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a real estate development environment residential property or land development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, including word-processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling and data management software
  • Must be detail-oriented and a problem-solver able to deal with complex situations
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Must take initiative, be resourceful, prioritize and perform within a team environment while maintaining focus and multitasking in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Periodic travel to sites throughout British Columbia, as well as working evenings and weekends, may be required
  • A valid drivers license and a car is required
