The Philanthropy Officer, Major Gifts will play an important role in supporting Scott Mission’s transformative work. In this role, you’ll help expand relationships with donors, learning how to develop a portfolio of individuals, foundations, and corporations.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Philanthropy, Marketing, Ministry, and Operations to help create meaningful donor experiences that connect their passions with our mission. Together, we’ll help foster a culture of generosity, ensure donors feel valued, and make a lasting impact across Toronto.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Proven Fundraising Acumen: You are passionate about building relationships and have an interest in major gift fundraising. You have an understanding of mass, mid-level, and legacy giving.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic Mindset: Interested in collaborating with the team to develop a fundraising strategy.
  • Ethical & Compliant: Some knowledge of fundraising regulations and ethical standards (AFP guidelines, Donor Bill of Rights, CRA, and CCCC guidelines).
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser's Edge, Engaging Networks) and strong O365 skills.
  • Experienced Professional: Relevant post-secondary education and some professional experience working with customer service or fund development.
  • Faith-Driven: A clear commitment to live out your Christian faith and agreement with the Statement of Faith of Scott Mission.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The compensation range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000.
  • RRSP 6.5% match defined contribution plan
  • 4 weeks Vacation 

Workplace Environment

This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work 2 days per week in office, plus visits to donors primarily located in the GTA. The office is located at Scott Mission HUB Distribution Centre at 5 McLachlan Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1E5.
