Position Description
Burlington Christian Academy (BCA) is a vibrant, Christ-centred educational community in Burlington, Ontario, dedicated to nurturing the whole child, spiritually, academically, and socially. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time LTO teacher to cover maternity leave from February to June 2026, with the potential for extension. This role provides the opportunity to teach and guide students in a variety of subjects while fostering their faith and academic growth.
- Position: Full-Time LTO Maternity Leave Teacher (Grades 5–8)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Grade 6 Homeroom and Rotary Teacher, supporting students’ daily learning and spiritual development.
- Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons.
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, collaboration, and Christian values.
- Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and teaching certification (OCT preferred).
- Demonstrated experience teaching in upper elementary and/or middle school grades.
- Strong background in Language Arts and a passion for engaging students in reading and writing.
- A vibrant Christian faith and active participation in a local church.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
