Position Description
Burlington Christian Academy (BCA) is a vibrant, Christ-centred educational community in Burlington, Ontario, dedicated to nurturing the whole child, spiritually, academically, and socially. We are seeking a passionate and skilled 70% French Teacher to join our team, teaching students from JK through Grade 8. This position provides the opportunity to inspire a love of language learning while supporting students’ spiritual and academic development.
- Position: 70% French Teacher (JK–Grade 8)
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- Contract: January – June 2026, with potential to become permanent
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging French instruction to students in JK–Grade 8.
- Develop lessons that promote language proficiency, cultural appreciation, and a joy for learning.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across grades and subjects.
- Foster a Christ-centred, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and teaching certification (OCT preferred).
- Proficiency in French (native or near-native fluency).
- Experience teaching French in elementary or middle school settings.
- A vibrant Christian faith and active participation in a local church.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of varying ages and abilities.
