Position Type: Full-time permanent salaried position
Organizational Overview:
Situated on 67 acres along the shores of beautiful Moberly Lake, BC, Camp Sagitawa is a Christian camping and conference centre owned by Sagitawa Christian Camping Society, a non-profit society and registered charity.
Our Mission: At Sagitawa we are committed to caring for people and connecting them with Christ. Through relationships and programs that both challenge and encourage, we pursue personal growth and a deeper connection with our Creator.
Camp Sagitawa has been sharing the gospel with children through summer camps for nearly 60 years and has been building to be able to continue for many more.
Position Summary:
As part of our growth, we are looking for a Site Director to take us into our 6th decade!
The Site Director will oversee the on-site staff and general operations of the facility, direct the preparation and function of summer camps and guest groups and with direction and support from the Property Chair administer general caretaking of the property.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee Day-to-Day operations of the camp ensuring camp standards of safety and care are met
- Perform the duties of an HR Manager including hiring/managing permanent & temporary staff and volunteers
- Lead staff and volunteers in prayer, devotions, discipleship and in Christian lifestyle through a godly example
- Build relationships with supporting churches and donors
- Oversee Guest Group bookings and relations
- Be able to support gaps in the camp program by leading skills
- Contribute to the development and upholding of the operating budget
- Support the Board in giving camp direction & vision
- Work with the board to develop new programs or ministries as the need arises and camp grows
- Knowledge of camp’s emergency procedures and ability to carry out an emergency plan
Qualifications:
- Be a born-again Christian in an active and growing relationship with Jesus.
- Be able to wholeheartedly agree with and support camp’s statement of faith, mission, vision & values
- Be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check
- Be physically and mentally able to handle the demands and rigors of a schedule and responsibilities that can result in long and demanding days, and an environment that requires navigating uneven and steep terrain
The following are considered an asset: First Aid certification, FAC/PAL, Boater’s license, canoe/kayak experience, belay training or high ropes certification, outdoor recreation training or a variety of recreational experiences such as hiking/hunting/fishing, previous camp ministry experience, previous work in a leadership position, working with a non-profit organization and board

Work Environment:
The Camp Director will be required to live on site and may need to be available at short notice or work non-standard hours when emergencies or the need arises
Shorter winter shifts will offset longer summer shifts to average a 40 hour week
This position will require working in a variety of weather conditions, sitting for extended office hours, being on your feet for long periods and travelling for a variety of meetings and engagements
