Position Description

Children’s Ministry Director primary responsibility will be to care for the overall children’s
ministry.

Responsibilities will include:

• provide overall pastoral care and support for children ages 2 to grade 5 and their families
• cast vision and mission for the children’s ministry
• create short and long term plans to ensure the children’s ministry continues to grow and develop
• find or produce curriculum that will help leaders grow and build the ministry
• recruit, coordinate and manage Sunday volunteers
• prepare and deliver age-appropriate sermon on Sundays
• provide training material and hold training sessions for volunteers
• plan and prepare any outside activity/events 
• oversee curriculum coordination and/or development
• plan and execute parent meetings
• equip families with resources and teaching material to use during the week
• participate in staff and church meetings
• ensure that safety protocols are followed
• communicate and coordinate with elders and leaders regularly
• manage, organize and ensure sufficient supplies
• miscellaneous administrative tasks; making signs, cutting materials, putting together booklets etc.
• send weekly emails and newsletters
• communicating and updating parents through social media and other platforms
