Position Description

Cornerstone Christian Community Church is a non-profit, Christian organization. The Church operates a community centre-style facility that is open 7 days per week and serves the community through church services on Sundays and various events and programs throughout the week. Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant is a key member of the Operations Team, providing administrative support to the different growing ministries (including Worship, Young Adults, Culinary, Communications, Outreach, and other ministries). The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and is comfortable supporting ministries through administrative and frontline responsibilities. The Operations Team works as a cohesive unit to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the church’s ministries.

Job Responsibilities

Systems & Data Support (Church Management Software):

  • Input and maintain accurate data and system processes for all supported ministries.
  • Record, follow up, and update information for new attendees and members.
  • Track and maintain attendance and other recreation- and ministry-related statistics.
  • Draft and send communication emails to various ministry groups.
  • Create and process digital forms
  • Update and maintain the church calendar, including event scheduling and room bookings.
  • Create and maintain projects and tasks in project management software (e.g., Asana).

Ministry, Frontline & Administrative Support:

  • Volunteer Support: Assist in onboarding new volunteers, collating references, coordinating police checks, maintaining schedules, master lists, and reminders.
  • Frontline & Hospitality: Provide frontline support by answering the general phone line and email inbox and welcoming guests into the building.
  • Ministry Materials & Communications: Create name tags, certificates, and other printed materials. Assist with sign updates and basic website edits.
  • Events & Logistics: Coordinate logistical needs for ministry programs and special events, including food, refreshments, and supplies.
  • Office Administration: Process expense reimbursement forms and assist with printing, copying, cutting, laminating, and office supply management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support ministry operations.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of other post secondary education and experience (minimum 2 years in related field).
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative or office support experience.

  • Problem solving mindset - calm under pressure, proactive follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Tech-capable - Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); willing to learn church tools (CCB, Asana, etc.) and other types of software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Must complete Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must be able to work on Sundays (on a rotational basis)
