Lead Pastor
Lead Pastor
Newmarket, Ontario , L3Y 1L8
Position Description
Overview
Cedarview Community Church is a thriving, multi‑generational congregation with a deep commitment to biblical teaching, worship and Spirit‑led ministry. The church’s core values are rooted in Scripture. Cedarview patterns all ministry, and measures all experience, by the final revelation of the Scriptures and honours God’s Word as the authority for life and conduct. This theological clarity and Spirit‑filled posture create a rich environment for preaching, teaching and discipleship.
Cedarview’s ministry reach is expansive. The church offers ministries for every life‑stage—including Christian education, connection groups, children’s and youth ministries, young adults, married’s ministry and a thriving fellowship ministry for adults. There are also specialised programs such as a Christ‑centred 12‑step recovery ministry, women’s and men’s ministries, and Bible studies in Arabic and Spanish . Community & Care initiatives put faith into action by serving meals to people who are homeless and distributing food baskets to needy families. World Missions is a significant part of life at Cedarview, twice a year the church hosts World Impact Sundays to hear from supported missionaries and sends teams around the globe—recently to the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Guyana—to assist partners in the field. This combination of local compassion and global mission provides a Lead Pastor with inspiring opportunities to shepherd a church that loves its neighbours and reaches the nations.
With Sunday attendance of around 700–800 and a highly competent staff of about fifteen, Cedarview offers an established yet growing platform for spiritual leadership. The next Lead Pastor will shepherd a congregation that values sound doctrine and Spirit‑empowered worship, oversee a diverse range of ministries, and partner with passionate leaders to extend Christ’s love from Newmarket to the world.
