ABOUT WAYPOINT CHURCH

Waypoint Church is a vibrant community of over 150 families centered in Oakville ON and serving the regions of Halton and Peel. We have a 20 year history as part of the former Meeting House. We have been working hard at a new start as we recover from the upheaval surrounding the departure of our former Teaching Pastor. In the midst of a difficult journey we have sensed God’s promise of a better future. With a new name and re-focused identity we are ready to move out of our “planting phase”. With the blessing of a substantial capital fund we are also looking for a new meeting place to house our growing ministries. We have a strong leadership core and gifted staff ministry team already in place. We place a high value on good teaching, inspiring worship, connection through small group ministry and practical compassionate engagement with our community. POSITION DETAILS

We are searching for a Lead Pastor who loves Jesus, possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated gifts of teaching and leadership. Our ideal candidate has experience as a Lead Pastor or would have worked as part of a ministry team in a growing church. We believe it is important that our candidate welcomes the opportunity to live and work in the Greater Toronto Area. We need an effective leader who is aware of their influence and operates out of a posture of humility as a servant leader. The candidate must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies with a degree from a recognized seminary preferred. Compatibility with our BIC distinctives (Be in Christ Church of Canada - beinchrist.ca) is essential as credentialing with the denomination is required. This is a full-time position including salary, benefits and retirement savings plan. Funds for relocation will be provided.
