Position Overview
The Youth & Family Minister supports Tintern’s ministries with teens, young adults, children, and families during a 12-month maternity leave. This is a part-time role (approximately 24 hours per week / 3 days per week) with flexibility around scheduling.
You will work collaboratively with the Senior Minister, staff team, volunteers, parents, and youth to nurture faith, develop leaders, and participate in God’s mission in our community.

Employment Details
- Term: 12 months (September 2026 – August 2027)
- Hours: Approximately 24 hours/week (3 days)
- Sunday Presence: Required for weekly worship
- On-site Presence: At least one day per week
- Vacation: 2 weeks (6 paid days), coordinated with the Senior Minister or Elders
- Feedback & Development: Annual review and ongoing mentorship
- Pay Schedule: Monthly, paid electronically
In consultation with the Senior Minister, you will develop a personal Rule of Life to support spiritual growth and ministry sustainability.
Compensation
- Salary: $26,000–$29,000 (commensurate with experience and training)
- Benefits: CPP and EI (as required by Ontario employment standards)

Key Responsibilities
- Teen Ministry Programming
- Lead a weekly TRUTH youth gathering with volunteer support
- Plan quarterly community-building or worship events
- Facilitate service projects, local mission initiatives, and support for mission trips
- Mentor teens in leadership (worship, devotionals, event planning)
- Intentionally involve youth in planning and leadership whenever possible
- Supporting Children & Family Ministry
- Meet monthly with one family to encourage spiritual formation
- Send a monthly communication to parents of children (K–8) and teens
- Build relationships with families through presence at school, sports, and community events
- Supporting Education Ministry
- Prepare and organize curriculum resources
- Coordinate and encourage volunteer teachers
- Support teacher recruitment and scheduling
- Teach one quarter alongside a new or prospective teacher
- Express appreciation to volunteers annually
- Website & Social Media
- Maintain and update the Tintern website
- Post regular updates on Tintern’s Facebook and ministry pages
- Share timely, engaging content related to church life and upcoming events
- Administration
- Coordinate education resources and scheduling
- Participate in regular staff meetings and planning
- Communicate clearly with staff and volunteers
- Young Adult Ministry
- Build relationships through gatherings and one-on-one connection
- Provide informal pastoral care where appropriate
- Facilitate monthly young adult gatherings (meals, discussions, or studies)
- Encourage integration into worship, service, and intergenerational ministry
- Support discernment around gifts, vocation, and calling
