About Circle Square Ranch Grand River

Circle Square Ranch Grand River is a Christian summer camp ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. Our mission is to see young people transformed into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ through intentional community, outdoor adventure, and Christ-centred programming.

Position Overview

In concert with the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada — the transformation of youth, students, and graduates into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ — the Camp Nurse provides medical care and oversight for campers and staff throughout the summer season.

The Camp Nurse plays a vital role in supporting camper well-being, ensuring safe medication management, and contributing to a caring and supportive camp environment. Nursing students with relevant training and experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Camp

• Prepare and organize the nurses office
• Order and organize medical and first aid supplies
• Prepare documentation and medication tracking systems

During Camp

• Participate in weekly staff meetings
• Receive, document, and organize camper and staff medications during registration
• Prepare and administer medications according to established procedures
• Maintain accurate medication logs and health records
• Be available throughout the day to provide first aid and medical care as needed
• Ensure first aid kits across camp are stocked and maintained weekly
• Prepare medications for return to parents/guardians at camper sign-out
• Provide guidance to weekend supervision staff regarding camper medical needs

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
• Current RN, RPN, or nursing student status
• CPR-C & First Aid Certification
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and willingness to assist with camp life beyond nursing duties as needed

Contract Details

Contract Start Date: Flexible - as early as June 1st, but no later than June 29th.
Contract End Date: September 2nd
Summer Schedule: Sunday 2:00 pm – Friday 8pm.
Compensation: $300 (minimum) weekly honorarium + enrollment in Summer Missions fundraising program.
Room & Board: Included as part of compensation
