About Circle Square Ranch Grand River

Circle Square Ranch Grand River is a Christian summer camp ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. Our mission is to see young people transformed into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ through intentional community, outdoor adventure, and Christ-centred programming.

Position Overview

In concert with the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada — the transformation of youth, students, and graduates into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ — the Maintenance Assistant supports the care, safety, and upkeep of the camp property.

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator, this role plays an essential part in preparing camp for retreats and summer programs, responding to daily maintenance needs, and ensuring facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for campers, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Camp & Spring Responsibilities

  • Assist with property preparation prior to retreat groups and summer camp
  • Support general maintenance projects and seasonal set-up
  • Assist with cleaning buildings and preparing program spaces
  • Report maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Coordinator
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and events

During Summer Camp

  • Participate in daily maintenance and cleaning routines
  • Assist with general property maintenance and repairs
  • Support opening day and camper transition procedures
  • Attend staff meetings and key camp activities (meals, devotions, evening programs, campfire, etc.)
  • Assist with sign-out and end-of-week routines

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to serve behind the scenes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic camp environment
  • Coachability and openness to learning new skills
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour tasks safely
  • Previous maintenance or facility experience is an asset but not required

Contract Details

Contract Start Date: Flexible - as early as June 1st, but no later than June 29th.
Contract End Date: September 2nd
Summer Schedule: Sunday 2:00 pm – Friday 8pm.
Compensation: $250 (minimum) weekly honorarium + enrollment in Summer Missions fundraising program.
Room & Board: Included as part of compensation
