Children/Youth Intern Position

Chinese Gospel Church - Downtown Toronto English Congregation is looking for an individual who wishes to be involved in ministry with children and youth.  This person should be passionate about building relationships with young people, leading them to Christ, and helping them grow in discipleship and service.  The English congregation provides Christian Education and cares for the children of all three language-specific congregations at the same time. Our Sunday youth program (grades 7-12) currently has about 15 youth attending on Sundays.  We would like to aim at bringing back the Friday Youth Group time in the evening.  

Ministry duties would be centred around:

• Developing and teaching lessons for the Friday Youth Group
• Taking the lead on the Friday fellowship schedule
• Organizing a team of volunteers
• Meeting, along with another leader, with youth outside of the fellowship for more direct discipleship
• Coordinating teaching topics with the Sunday Youth team
• Assessing and planning outreach opportunities to youth in the downtown area
• Reviewing the outreach framework, materials to adopt for these outreach opportunities, and how other church volunteers could be involved

Requirements:

• Maturity of faith
• Be enrolled or about to enroll in a Bible college/seminary for ministry
• Police background check
• Substantial agreement with the AGC's Statement of Faith and CGC Core Values
• Must be teachable and eager to learn

Experience:     Some ministry experience is essential, but paid ministry experience,  experience in Chinese or cross-cultural ministry, and conversational Mandarin are assets.

Start Date:       Fall 2026

Hours:               10-15 hours a week (depending upon availability)

Pay:                    Will be based on previous experience and education
