Position Description

Move Church, located in Beckwith, Ontario, is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor to guide our congregation into its next chapter of ministry. We are a Christ-centered community passionate about honouring God, growing as disciples, and impacting our region with the gospel.

About the Role

The Lead Pastor will serve as the church’s primary spiritual and organizational leader, shaping the vision, teaching God’s Word, providing pastoral care, and developing ministry leaders. This role requires someone who leads from a deep, growing relationship with Jesus and models servant leadership with humility and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Spirit-led, expository preaching and teaching grounded in Scripture
• Foster a culture of prayer, discipleship, and community care
• Provide pastoral care and shepherding, alongside elders and ministry leaders
• Develop and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers
• Collaborate with the Elders and Board of Directors to guide church vision, mission, and strategy
• Oversee ministry operations, stewardship, and outreach initiatives

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, with a mature, growing walk and a clear calling to pastoral ministry
• Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:6–9)
• Strong alignment and agreement with Move Church’s statement of faith, mission, values, and theology
• Theological education (seminary preferred) or equivalent ministry experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Practices a healthy work–personal life balance, including a regular rhythm of Sabbath rest
• Confidence in Pastoral authority to lead the Church
• A pastoral heart marked by emotional maturity, healthy boundaries, and relational wisdom
• A demonstrated pattern of longevity and faithfulness in previous ministry roles
• Focus on strengthening the community of the church

Location: Beckwith, Ontario (serving the Franktown/Carleton Place/Smiths Falls area)
Compensation: $55,000-65,000
