Position Description

The Marketing & Events Assistant supports the College’s marketing, communications, and event initiatives. Working collaboratively across departments, this role maintains digital platforms, engages online audiences, and assists in the planning and execution of institutional events.

This role is to fill a vacancy in an existing position.

  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Type: Full-time, Permanent (35 hours/week, in-person with one remote day per week; limited evening work required for select events throughout the year)
  • Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications

  • Update website content and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy
  • Support the planning and execution of social media strategy
  • Write and edit content for a variety of platforms and publications
  • Schedule email campaigns and weekly communications
  • Track and analyze marketing performance and prepare reports
  • Assist with ordering and preparing merchandise for sale

Events

  • Support the planning and execution of institutional events (e.g., conferences, convocation, fundraising events)
  • Coordinate event promotion, including managing distribution lists
  • Respond to event-related inquiries in a timely manner

Administration

  • Greet and assist students and visitors who enter our main entrance
  • Answer phone calls, respond to email inquiries, and schedule meetings

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, digital media, or a related field
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365
  • Photography and photo/video editing skills
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube), including analytics/reporting
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Premiere Pro
  • Experience with Wordpress and related plugins an asset
  • Experience with GA4 an asset

Compensation:

$42,000–44,000 per year, plus competitive benefits and employer-matching pension plan
