Position Description

For more than 30 years, The Learning House has been a leader in serving the Canadian homeschool and private school population and we are growing! Do you love serving homeschooling families? Do you have a passion for books and love for the homeschool community or Christian education? Come join us!

**We have immediate openings and will be filling them as qualified candidates are identified. Applications will be addressed as they are received.**

  • Salary Range: To be determined
  • Type: Part-time to full-time seasonal with the majority of hours available in August and September. After September: part-time with potential for full-time.
  • Location: Bradford, Ontario. This is an in-person position.

Required:

  • Working understanding of current homeschool options
  • Friendly, approachable, and easy-going attitude.
  • Ability to safely and repeatedly lift and move boxes up to 40lbs
  • Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Maximum availability in August and September
  • Minimum age: 16

Recommended Skills:

  • Basic computer skills in Quickbooks, Outlook, and other common applications
  • Workplace safety training and experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience in bookstores or Christian education or warehousing
  • First Aid certificate
  • Drivers license

Tasks:

Customer Service Representatives regularly perform the following tasks:

  • Assist customers in choosing curriculum
  • Accept, edit, and process orders over the phone and from website
  • Assist walk-in customers with product selection and purchase
  • Liaise with new and existing customer to ensure orders are accurately assembled
  • Pick and prepare orders for shipping
  • Process customer returns
  • Assist with reception duties
  • Assist with Customer Service Assistance duties (filing, preparing and shelving products, cleaning, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with other staff, customers, and vendors
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Owner
