Worship Pastor
Worship Pastor
Stittsville, Ontario , K2S 1B1
Position Description
At Community Bible Church (CBC), worship is more than a set list. It is a shared journey of confession, celebration, and renewed focus on the grace, glory, and truth of Jesus Christ.
We are looking for a Worship Pastor who leads worship well but more importantly, leads people into the presence of God and into authentic community, someone who can shepherd a team, inspire a room, and build a worship culture that is grounded, Biblical, Spirit-led, and alive. This person will report to the Senior Pastor.
Why CBC?
CBC is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, church with deep roots in Stittsville and a growing heart for the surrounding region. Our congregation of 220+ is growing and ready for the next chapter of musical and spiritual leadership.
Our mission is simple and bold:
Know Jesus. • Grow Together. • Love Others.
The Role: Worship Pastor
This is at minimum a part-time position of 20–25 hours per week, with the potential to be full-time for a candidate who also takes on A/V and social media leadership (see below).
Your core focus will be leading worship, developing volunteers, and collaborating with the Lead Pastor and staff team to plan meaningful, Christ-centred services. Your time will be spent:
- Creating — crafting engaging worship sets and service elements that draw people into the presence of God
- Equipping — mentoring musicians, vocalists, and tech volunteers to grow in their gifts
- Collaborating — working with ministry leaders to align worship with CBC’s mission and vision
What You’ll Do
Worship & Sunday Gatherings
- Plan music and creative elements in collaboration with the Lead Pastor
- Guide and rehearse the worship team weekly
- Lead worship in person 26 or more Sundays per year, plus special services, but be responsible for all worship services, even when not leading in person
- When not on stage, support behind the scenes — coaching, training, and contributing to the service
Volunteer Development
- Recruit and mentor volunteers for music, audio, visual, and livestream
- Cultivate a team culture of growth, grace, and excellence
- Coordinate volunteer schedules using Planning Center
Technical & Production Oversight
- Ensure a smooth, distraction-free worship experience (sound, slides, lighting, livestream)
- Oversee the annual worship and tech budget, equipment needs, and key software (ProPresenter, Ableton, UAD)
Team Collaboration & Church Life
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute to church-wide planning
- Engage in outreach and community-focused events annually (e.g., VBS, holiday services)
- Build relational equity with the congregation and leadership team
Expanded Role: A/V and Social Media Leadership
The Worship Pastor role requires 20–25 hours per week. A full-time position requiring 40 hours per week is available for a candidate with the skills and vision to also lead CBC’s broadcast A/V and social media presence.
CBC currently streams services live, maintains a YouTube channel, and has a presence on Facebook. In a media-rich world, effective outreach increasingly happens beyond Sunday morning. The right candidate will take ownership of this communication ministry, extending CBC’s voice and welcome into the broader community.
What We’re Looking For
Our Worship Pastor should demonstrate Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. He or she should:
- be committed to personal spiritual growth with Jesus, creative, teachable, willing to follow, and able to lead, loving God and neighbor; and
- demonstrate proven experience leading worship in a church setting, with the capacity to lead from guitar and/or keyboard.
Assets
- Bible College, Seminary, or Music/Arts training
- Experience with sound and production systems (Ableton, UAD, ProPresenter, etc.)
- Creative vision for worship that honours tradition while embracing innovation
- Project or budget management experience
- A/V production and social media skills
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and the part-time or full-time commitment.
