Position Description

About Springside Baptist Church

Springside Baptist Church is a warm, welcoming family of approximately 150 members who are committed to glorifying Christ by obeying His Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Our church recently celebrated our 90th anniversary, and as a part of the North American Baptist conference and Saskatchewan Baptist Association we look forward in continuing to strive to love God and love others, pray continually, teach Biblically, make disciples, and worship in spirit and truth. We are actively involved in ministries such as small groups, seniors ministry, prayer, community events, music, and children’s ministry. We also love to support and volunteer at Good Spirit Bible Camp.

Our church is healthy, generous, and ready for visionary leadership that will deepen our walk with Christ and extend the reach of the Gospel into our community and beyond!

Life in Springside

Springside is a friendly prairie town of about 500 people with safe streets, caring neighbors, and a strong sense of community. We are located just 15 minutes northwest of Yorkton, SK which gives easy access to shopping, healthcare, schools, and more. Good Spirit Lake and Good Spirit Bible Camp are only 15 minutes away, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, family life, camping, fishing, and ministry. Our community features a K-8 school, library, senior center, hockey rink, and community center.

Who We’re Looking For

Springside Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a called and passionate Lead Pastor to walk with us into the next season of ministry. We are a multi-generational, Bible-believing church family, and we’re looking for a shepherd who loves Jesus deeply, cares for people genuinely, and is excited about making disciples in a close-knit rural community.

Our desire is for a man with a clear testimony of faith, a growing and authentic relationship with Christ, and a strong sense of God’s calling to pastoral ministry. He will be a humble, servant hearted leader who models Biblical character and lives out the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 with integrity, grace, and a heart for others.

We long for a pastor who will lead with vision and compassion, encourage spiritual growth, strengthen our church family, and help us share the love of Christ in our community and beyond.

Key qualities we value highly:

  • Theologically sound with a deep commitment to the authority and teaching of God’s Word
  • Spiritually gifted and passionate about biblically centered, Christ-exalting preaching that is relevant and life-changing
  • Relational and community-minded — someone who genuinely loves people inside and outside the church
  • A shepherd-leader who balances pastoral care with visionary leadership
  • Team-oriented — able to equip, empower, and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and the congregation
  • Education: Biblical/theological training from a recognized Bible college (Master’s or M.Div. preferred, but we will seriously consider other qualified candidates with solid training from a reputable institution)
  • Previous experience in pastoral ministry is preferred, but we are most interested in your love for the Lord, your commitment to His Word, and your heart for people

We are open to discussing family fit, lifestyle, housing options, salary, and benefits as part of the process. Good character and a clear calling matters more to us than checking every box.

Key Responsibilities

As our Lead Pastor, you would:

  • Deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons aligned with our Statement of Faith
  • Provide spiritual vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the church
  • Offer pastoral care, mentorship, and oversight to the congregation
  • Lead, equip, and support staff and volunteers while fostering a collaborative team culture
  • Work with the Church Ministry Team on governance and operations
  • Participate in community outreach

Why This Opportunity Is Attractive

Our church has a far-reaching and healthy congregation that is large in relationship to the size of community we are located in. It’s an opportunity to invest deeply in a loving, mission-focused church where your impact will be felt immediately. You’ll know your people by name, see real spiritual growth, and experience the joy of rural ministry in a close-knit community that is eager to follow a God-called shepherd.
