Position Description

Day Camp Interns are leaders who have a heart and passion for working with children. They are creative, outgoing, organized, and have a fun personality. They are honest, responsible, and work well with others. They have a willingness and ability to create a safe place for our campers.

Day Camp Interns will:

• Assist in developing, supervising, and participating in camp programming activities with campers of different ages
• Participate in training workshops held prior to camp sessions
• Work co-operatively with others to ensure campers are safe, while maintaining adequate health and hygiene measures
• Build healthy relationships with all campers by showing compassion, empathy and understanding
• Interact appropriately with parents to provide information and feedback about their child’s activities
• Assist with marketing and advertising related tasks to promote camp programming
• Participate in camp leadership and Northend Church staff meetings as needed
• Occasionally assist in other Northend Church Children’s Ministry initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Eligibility and Schedule:

• Applicants must be immediately eligible to work in Canada and be between the ages of 16 and 30 in keeping with the Canada Summer Jobs grant requirements.
• Applicants must agree with Northend Church’s mission, vision, and statement of faith.
• Applicants must be available to work Monday through Thursday, Sunday mornings, and occasional Fridays and weekends through the months of July and August 2026.
• The Canada Summer Jobs grant funds a portion of this internship and requires the participant to work the sum of a 35-hour work week for 8 weeks.
