Position Description

We are seeking a motivated and creative Volunteer Marketing Manager to help grow RefugeRoot’s presence, amplify our mission, and support fundraising and community engagement efforts. This is a fully remote, flexible role ideal for a marketing professional looking to contribute meaningfully while developing their leadership portfolio.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a marketing and communications strategy aligned with RefugeRoot’s mission and growth goals.
  • Manage and grow social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube), including content creation and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to support fundraising campaigns and crowdfunding initiatives.
  • Write and distribute newsletters, donor updates, and organizational announcements.
  • Create compelling visual and written content that tells the stories of the children and communities we serve.
  • Build and manage relationships with media contacts, partner organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Track and report on marketing metrics, audience engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Support the development of grant proposals and donor communications as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Background or demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Genuine passion for humanitarian work, child protection, and social impact.

Assets (not required):

  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.
  • Previous experience with NGOs, non-profits, or volunteer organizations is an asset
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategy or donor relations.
  • Bilingual (English/French) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
