Position Description

TIME COMMITMENT: Full Time, 37.5 hours weekly
DURATION: Permanent
COMPENSATION RANGE: $55,000 – $62,000
LOCATION: Office located in Grimsby, Ontario; Hybrid: Tuesdays – Thursdays mandatory in office, Mondays/Fridays optional remote

Role & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide the brand voice for Bible League Canada ensuring that organizational communications remain consistent and clear. They will do this through the creation of original and edited copy that will share with donors, prospects, and partners what God is doing through the Ministry. Reporting to the Marketing Content Manager the successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure each communication piece is clear, compelling, and meets brand standards.

Specific responsibilities within the above areas will include but not be limited to:

Donor-Focused Fundraising Copy:

  • Create compelling copy for multi-channel fundraising appeals including elements such as print mailings, landing pages, emails, project summaries, thank you letters, and additional fundraising support pieces.

Donor Engaging Reporting Copy:

  • Editing stories each month to be used for reporting back to donors on their impact of their giving.
  • Editing stories for a monthly newsletter.
  • Editing longer form stories for quarterly reporting to ensure donors feel connected to the ministry.
  • Writing compelling copy for key brand pieces like the Annual Report to demonstrate that donors are making a meaningful impact through storytelling, leadership communication elements, and quantitative reporting elements.

Digital-Focused Copy:

  • Help to drive continued digital improvements through copywriting for additional pieces such as website pages and cultivation emails.
  • Assist with editing of content for social media posts and advertisements.

Maintain Consistent Brand Voice:

  • Copy editing for daily devotionals to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Copy editing of additional communications (social media ads, donor reports, monthly prayer points, and other touchpoints) to ensure consistent brand voice and adherence to ministry standards.

Inter-Group Support:

  • Produce or edit copy for other internal teams for elements like tax receipts, prayer of the day, foundations, and caseload touchpoints (presentations, cultivation mailings, reporting), as required.

Chapel/Prayer Time:

  • Participate in regular staff chapel services and pray for and minister to colleagues, donors, visitors and people who contact Bible League Canada either in person, or by phone or other electronic communication. These ministry and prayer opportunities include but are not limited to weekly chapel and devotions, meetings, general inquiries, and conferences and events.

*Additional responsibilities may be added in consultation with and at the discretion of the supervisor.

Education:

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing or Journalism is required.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Experience creating copy for digital channels (email, web, social) as well as print channels.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating versatility across multiple content formats.

Technical Skills:

  • Exceptional grammar, proofing, and editing skills.
  • Experience with Asana or other Project Management tools is an asset.
  • Proven ability to create both original content and optimize AI-assisted content.

Interpersonal Skills and Core Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills for managing diverse priorities.
  • Comfortable with constructive feedback and collaborative processes.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions, shifting priorities.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work well in a busy environment.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as needed.

  • Able to handle confidential information and maintain security standards.
