Overview
UrbanPromise Toronto is a non-profit ministry committed to a 20-year journey with children and their families. Our mission is to REACH children in the Toronto Community Housing neighbourhood of Mount Olive with the love of Jesus, RAISE them into leaders, and RESTORE their community.
We are seeking one full-time Ministry Supervisor to lead community ministry at Camp Victory, located at 2534 Kipling Ave., Etobicoke (Thistletown Baptist Church).
The successful candidate will be a committed follower of Christ with a passion for serving children, youth, and families in Toronto Community Housing neighbourhoods. This role develops and oversees programs for students in Grades 5–8 while coaching and mentoring students in Grades 9–12 as emerging leaders.
Key Ministry Responsibilities:
1. Ministry Leadership
- Build meaningful relationships with children, youth, and families
- Coach, mentor, and disciple a team of high school students from the community to execute programs, as well as developing their long term growth and impact on the community.
- Engage local schools and community centres through outreach and service
- Lead planning and delivery of core programs, including:
- Daily after-school program (school year)
- 6-week summer day camp
- March Break program
- Occasional weekend excursions and retreats
- Ensure all programs follow UPT policies, safety standards, and public health requirements
- Use your gifts and passions to serve the community and advance the ministry’s mission
2. Leadership & Discipleship
- Model strong personal leadership and spiritual maturity
- Recruit, train, and lead Program Leaders, StreetLeaders (youth staff), volunteers, and short-term missionaries
- Clarify roles, set objectives, and lead regular team meetings
- Build partnerships with local churches and community organizations
- Support organizational fundraising initiatives
3. Administration
- Maintain participant and staff records
- Oversee systems to ensure smooth ministry operations
- Track and report program statistics, expenses, and required documentation to the Ministry Director.
- Managing financial resources, partnerships and use of facilities
4. Deputation
- Building a team of prayer and financial contributors to support you as a missionary
- Produce a communication plan for donor care
- Track support through deputation reports and personal tracking
- Support UPT Fundraising Events
