Discipleship Director
Discipleship Director
Uxbridge, Ontario , L0C 1C0
Position Description
St. Paul's Leaskdale (SPL) — Leaskdale, Ontario
Full-time | Anticipated start: Fall 2026 – Winter 2027
At SPL, our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus. Every week, adults walk through our doors and onto our livestream, asking real questions: Do I belong here? What do I believe? How do I follow Jesus?
We're looking for a Discipleship Director who will make sure there is always a clear, personal next step waiting for them, and a leader ready to walk with them.
What you'll own
- Our Discipleship Pathway for adults — outreach, welcome, connections, groups, and care — making every next step clear, personal, and achievable.
- A thriving small group culture where adults grow together, not alone — recruiting, coaching, and empowering a growing team of group leaders who provide real, everyday care.
- On-ramps for people new to Jesus and new to SPL — classes like Basics, Beginnings, and Rooted, along with baptism preparation.
- Outreach to spiritually curious adults, especially 25–35-year-olds in our surrounding communities.
You'll report to the Executive Pastor, serve on the Senior Leadership Team, and lead our Connection Coordinator and a growing team of discipleship volunteers.
Who we're looking for
A mature follower of Jesus with a pastor's heart. Someone who enjoys developing leaders more than doing ministry alone, connects naturally with people exploring faith, and can explain Christian truth in language that makes sense to someone with little or no church background. You see both the big picture and the practical details, and you build simple, clear systems that help people take their next step. When you communicate one-on-one, or from the platform, people trust you and want to act.
The practical details
- Full-time, primarily based at the SPL office in Leaskdale, Ontario
- Work week is Sunday–Thursday (Fridays and Saturdays off); some evening and weekend work is involved
- 2+ years of experience in adult discipleship, groups, or congregational ministry
- An undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred; theological education is an asset
- Experience with Planning Center is optimal
