2026–2027 School Year

Newmarket Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, Christ-centred educator to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and inspiring students to use their God-given gifts and talents.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will teach 50% covering:

• Music/Band: Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8
• Bible: Grades 2–4
• Art: Grades 1–4 and Grades 5–8

This position offers the opportunity to cultivate students' creativity, musical abilities, and Biblical understanding while fostering a love for learning in a Christ-centred environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music, Band, Bible, and Art lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and mission.
• Prepare students for school concerts, performances, chapels, and special events throughout the year.
• Foster an appreciation for music, creativity, and artistic expression.
• Integrate Biblical truth and a Christian worldview into daily teaching.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to students and families.
• Lead chapels each Monday morning and Friday afternoons
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and parents to support student success.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, chapels, and school events.

Qualifications

• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing (preferred).
• Degree in Education, Music, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to Christian education.
• Experience teaching elementary students is considered an asset.
• Ability to teach instrumental band (Grades 5–8).
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or ability to obtain one).
