St. Paul's Leaskdale (SPL) — Leaskdale, Ontario

Full-time | Anticipated start: Immediately

At SPL, our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus. Most people’s first experience of SPL is not a conversation with a pastor. They find a post, a video, a website, a parking lot, a person at the door. And in those moments they are asking real questions: 

• Is there room for me here? 
• Will anyone notice me? 
• Can I belong?

We're looking for an Outreach and First Impressions Manager who will make sure that SPL’s answer is yes to every one of those questions  

What you'll own

• SPL's digital presence, planning, creating, and posting content that carries our brand and voice, running campaigns that reach spiritually curious people in our surrounding communities, and keeping our website easy to use for someone with no church background.
• Our Sunday guest experience, from the parking lot to the Start Here station to the first cup of coffee, so every touchpoint feels warm and consistent.
• A growing team of volunteers across parking, greeting, ushering, Start Here, hospitality, media, and online hosting, recruiting, equipping, scheduling, and leading them.
• Follow-up with first-time guests, in person and online, in the days after their visit.
• Welcome and hospitality for our biggest weekends of the year, including Christmas and Easter.
• You'll report to the Creative Director and lead our volunteer media team along with all of our First Impressions teams, in the room and on the screen.

Who we're looking for

• A follower of Jesus who is genuinely excited to introduce unchurched people to him.
• Someone who can recruit, equip, and lead large volunteer teams, and who would rather build a team than carry the work alone.
• You communicate clearly in words and in visuals, and you know how to engage people online in a way that sounds like SPL rather than like an ad.
• You notice the small barriers that quietly keep a first-time guest from coming back: a confusing sign, an empty welcome desk, a message left unanswered, and you fix them.
• You can hold several projects across several teams at once without letting the details slip.

The practical details

• Full-time, primarily based at the SPL office in Leaskdale, Ontario
• Work week is Sunday to Thursday (Fridays and Saturdays off); some evening work and special event weekends are involved
• A proven track record of recruiting and leading volunteers
• 2+ years of experience with social media management
• A degree in communications, hospitality, or nonprofit management is preferred
• Able to use AI tools well and in line with SPL's AI policy
