Fundraising & Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Guelph, Ontario (In person)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Compensation: $22–$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Start Date: As soon as possible
About Michael House
Michael House is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting pregnant and parenting women and their children. Through our residential and supportive housing programs, we provide a safe, caring environment where mothers can build stability, independence and brighter futures for their families.
Our work is made possible through the generosity of donors, businesses, churches, community partners and volunteers.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for an outgoing, motivated and relationship-driven individual to help grow our fundraising efforts and strengthen our presence in the community.
As our Fundraising & Community Engagement Coordinator, you will help plan and execute fundraising events while also building meaningful relationships, identifying new funding opportunities, engaging donors and inspiring others to support our mission. This is a dynamic role that combines event coordination, fundraising and community engagement.
Working closely with the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee, you will help develop and execute initiatives that generate sustainable financial support for Michael House.

Key Responsibilities
Fund Development & Donor Relations
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including individual donations, corporate sponsorships, grants and community partnerships.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, ensuring meaningful engagement and ongoing stewardship.
- Develop fundraising appeals, sponsorship proposals and donor communications.
- Grow our monthly Angel Donor program and support other annual giving campaigns.
- Support grant research, applications, reporting and deadline management.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Represent Michael House at community events, networking opportunities and meetings with prospective supporters.
- Build relationships with local businesses, churches, service clubs and community organizations.
- Deliver engaging presentations that communicate our mission, programs and community impact.
- Identify opportunities for community partnerships and third-party fundraising initiatives.
Fundraising Events & Campaigns
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, including budgets, timelines, logistics and promotional activities.
- Secure event sponsorships and financial or in-kind contributions.
- Engage and coordinate volunteers, fundraising committees and community partners.
- Evaluate event outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Planning, Communications & Reporting
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee to implement the annual fund development plan.
- Monitor fundraising performance, donor engagement and progress toward established goals.
- Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records using Keela.
- Develop compelling impact stories and contribute to newsletters, social media, website content and other promotional materials.
- Prepare fundraising reports and provide regular updates on activities and results.
Qualifications & Experience
What We're Looking For
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, business development, corporate partnerships or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, initiate new connections and develop opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including confidence in public speaking and delivering presentations.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling fundraising materials.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, resourceful and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn donor management software.
- A valid driver's licence.
Additional Assets
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector.
- Experience securing corporate sponsorships, managing donor relationships or writing grants.
- Familiarity with the Guelph community and local business networks.
- Experience with Keela or similar donor management software.
- Experience coordinating fundraising events and volunteers.

This is an in-person position based at 187 Bristol Street in Guelph. Some evening and weekend availability will be required for fundraising events and community engagement activities.
