Position Description
ICALC Learning Centre is a Christian tutoring school located in Richmond Hill that provides high-quality academic support to students from Grades 1 to 12. We are currently seeking part-time teachers with strong proficiency in English reading and writing. Experience in public speaking, debating, and teaching SAT (and/or IELTS, TOEFL, AP English, or IB English) is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Teach English writing and literature
- Teach public speaking and presentation skills
- Assign and assess homework
- Develop curriculum outlines and course content independently
- Guide students in delivering short speeches, book reports, and class presentations similar to school assignments
Academic and Other Qualifications
- Native English speaker
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English Language, Literature, or a related field
- Prior experience in education, tutoring, mentoring, or homeschooling is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a means of transportation and teach in person
- Passion for nurturing and inspiring the younger generation
- Demonstrate exemplary attitude, speech, and behaviour as a role model
